At Apple’s WWDC26 keynote on June 9, 2026, the company unveiled Siri AI, a powerful assistant merging Siri with Google Gemini-based Apple Intelligence, offering email composition, image understanding, and password management. While Siri AI launches globally in fall 2026 alongside iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, its EU rollout will be delayed due to the Digital Markets Act. The European Commission rejected Apple’s proposed “Trusted System Agent” framework for phased third-party AI access, citing insufficient compliance. Siri AI on macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27 remains unaffected and will release on schedule worldwide.

Siri AI is an AI assistant that integrates the new Apple Innotifyigence, based on Google Gemini. Compared to the previous Siri, its functionality has been significantly improved, and it now offers features such as ‘composing emails,’ ‘image understanding,’ ‘automatic text proofreading,’ ‘password management,’ and ‘displaying information during phone calls.’ The announcements regarding Siri AI from the keynote address are summarized in the following article.

Siri AI will be available in the fall of 2026 with the release of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27. However, according to Apple, the release of Siri AI in iOS 27 and iPadOS will be delayed in the EU. This delay is reportedly due to the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
According to Apple, EU regulators have requested, based on the DMA, that Apple ‘grant third-party AI systems other than Siri AI access to applyr data and control apps,’ ‘provide virtually unlimited access to applyrs’ devices for all AI systems,’ and ‘enable all AI systems to act autonomously based on that access without continuous applyr oversight or control.’
Apple designed a ‘Trusted System Agent’ system to allow AI assistants other than Siri AI to safely access various functions, as a mechanism to mitigate applyr risks while complying with regulations. They shared a plan with regulators for the phased deployment of the Trusted System Agent over 18 months. However, the European Commission rejected Apple’s proposal, leading to the decision to postpone the launch of Siri AI within the EU, taking into consideration the risks to applyrs.
Within the EU, only the Siri AI in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will be delayed; Siri AI in macOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27 will be released at the same time as in other regions.
