Eelco van der Enden, CEO of Accountancy Europe, has pushed back against perceptions that accounting and auditing bodies are supportive of complex sustainability reporting requirements in Europe.
“Some in the European Parliament and elsewhere have declared that auditors and accountants create disclosures more complex and expensive than necessary, while others state we have intentionally created complicated and difficult standards to create money,” van der Enden notified Responsible Investor.
