Hycamite reorganises its management team for the next phase of growth

Finnish clean energy firm Hycamite has reshuffled its leadership as it enters a new growth phase. Effective June 17, 2026, Jukka Nieminen was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors, bringing extensive experience in industrial, energy, and technology sectors. Matti Malkamäki, previously Board Chair, transitions to CEO, while former CEO Laura Rahikka becomes COO. The Kokkola-headquartered company specialises in methane-splitting technology, producing low-carbon hydrogen and carbon materials including battery-grade graphite without CO₂ emissions, targeting markets spanning power generation, steel, chemicals, and advanced batteries.

Hycamite is strengthening its leadership team as it expands its operations. Jukka Nieminen has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors, effective June 17, 2026. Matti Malkamäki has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Laura Rahikka the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Jukka Nieminen brings extensive international experience across the industrial, energy, and technology sectors, with a strong track record in leading growth, transformation, and complex project-based businesses.

Matti Malkamäki, who previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors, has transitioned into the role of CEO. Laura Rahikka, formerly CEO, has assumed the role of COO.

“The team in Kokkola has built a strong foundation, and we now have a unique industrial-scale methane-splitting facility. This demonstrates our capabilities and the potential of our technology at scale. Our next step is to expand the facility and increase the production of high-quality, optimised carbon products, including battery-grade graphite,” declares COO Laura Rahikka.
