LOS ANGELES (KABC) — SoCalGas has laid off some workers, the company confirmed Friday.
It’s unclear exactly how many employees were let go or what positions were affected, but in a statement, a spokesperson for the company declared the shift is part of recent “regulatory outcomes” and “evolving business requireds.”
“As we navigate a modifying regulatory and economic environment, SoCalGas is taking steps to align our operations with recent regulatory outcomes and evolving business requireds, which includes reducing approximately 2% of our workforce,” read the statement. “We are providing support to impacted employees through this transition.”
According to SoCalGas’ website, the company has 8,000 employees.
