Westlake Epoxy’s Deer Park facility earns ISCC PLUS sustainability certification

Expanding EpoVIVE mass balance offering across Europe and the U.S.

Westlake Corporation’s Deer Park, Texas, epoxy plant has earned the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS. This certification applies to its liquid and solid epoxy resins, as well as various epoxy blfinishs applyd in industries like wind energy, automotive, construction, and electronics. Effective immediately, Westlake can offer customers products featuring ISCC+ certified renewable feedstock via a mass-balance approach.

These solutions support sustainability objectives while maintaining the same quality, performance, and specifications as our standard epoxy resins.

“This is an important milestone for Westlake Epoxy in North America and a key step in bringing more renewable raw materials into our global supply chain,” stated Brian Powers, Senior Vice President, Performance & Essential Materials. “ISCC PLUS mass balance-attributed certification at Deer Park allows us to offer U.S.-created epoxy resins produced under a certified mass balance system, with the same high performance our customers expect. It strengthens our global EpoVIVE platform and supports our customers as they pursue their sustainability objectives.

Following the certification of its Duisburg, Germany, and Deer Park, U.S., facilities, Westlake Epoxy is expanding the availability of its ISCC PLUS-certified epoxy resins. By applying renewable feedstocks through a mass-balance approach, the company is supporting customers across North America and Europe in reaching their sustainability goals.
