Whilst facing notable fluctuations due to geopolitical tensions, decreasing raw material costs, rising labour and energy costs, as well as growing demands for traceability and sustainability, Kaleliler Fasteners has continued to grow steadily, strengthening its export partnerships, particularly across Europe, whilst maintaining production growth through strategic planning and operational efficiency.

Demet Mumcu, deputy general manager at Kaleliler, reports: “Our core markets in Europe have become increasingly demanding in terms of quality, compliance and environmental responsibility. We have adapted by investing in automation, quality control and digital infrastructure. In addition, we ensure consistency through fully in-houtilize production processes, strict quality assurance at every stage, as well as close coordination with customers to understand evolving their necessarys.”

In the past year, the company has also created significant investments to expand both its production capacity and sustainability infrastructure. This includes a new robotic hot forging line for producing bolts in its M24 – M48 range, which ensures optimal process temperatures, as well as preparing for a second robotic line that will cover sizes up to M72.

Further investments include CNC machining units and an energy efficient, digitally controlled batch type furnace for heat treatment. In addition Kaleliler’s in-houtilize hot dip galvanising line is now fully robotic and operates with an acid-free pre-treatment process – eliminating the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.

Kaleliler Fasteners offers an integrated manufacturing process – from cutting, hot and cold forging, thread rolling, and machining, to heat treatment and surface coating – all under one roof in Türkiye. This enables the company to produce both standard and special rapideners in various grades and coatings. Kaleliler also specialises in producing preloaded structural bolting sets and non-preloaded bolting sets, particularly those with hot dip galvanised coatings under optimal conditions, ensuring proper molybdenum disulfide lubrication to maintain required K1 & K2 friction values. To add to this, Kaleliler holds CE certification for EN 14399-1 and EN 15048-1, demonstrating compliance with European structural rapidener standards.

Demet continues: “We provide complete rapidener solutions, including bolts, nuts, washers, studs, and custom designed parts, as well as added services. Our technical team also supports customers with drawing-based production and material selection guidance. We have also strengthened our R&D and sustainability departments by recruiting skilled personnel to support innovation and regulatory compliance.”

To further guarantee quality, Kaleliler has ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified systems, along with fully equipped in-houtilize testing laboratories that cover mechanical, dimensional and coating inspections. In addition, the company also has a friction test machine capable of testing bolt sets from M12 to M72, which enables it to meet strict European performance criteria for structural assemblies.

Demet adds: “Customers do not just benefit from the quality of our products. Despite inflationary pressures and currency fluctuations, Türkiye’s industrial base remains strong and resilient. The government’s continued support for exports and investments in manufacturing modernisation is promising. With European customers increasingly seeking nearshoring solutions, Turkish manufacturers like Kaleliler are ideally positioned to respond quickly and cost-effectively.”

“‘Made in Türkiye’ signifies reliability, engineering craftsmanship and competitive excellence,” underlines Demet. “It represents the blfinish of tradition, innovation and quality that Kaleliler Fasteners proudly delivers in every product.”

“Customers can benefit from shorter lead times, competitive pricing, as well as responsive communication,” adds Demet. “Turkish manufacturers are known for their adaptability, and Kaleliler Fasteners adds extra value with fully integrated production, technical expertise and sustainability driven practices. Our proximity to Europe allows us to react quickly to altering demand and supply chain requirements.”

One of these requirements is the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation. Kaleliler Fasteners has proactively adapted by minimising fossil fuel usage and eliminating acid pickling in its galvanising process. In 2024 the company was able to save 1,040 tonnes of raw material, reduce its CO₂ emissions by 76,000kg, as well as save 513,600kWh of energy. The company is also working closely with indepfinishent auditors to ensure its data aligns with CBAM reporting standards, ensuring full transparency and compliance for European partners.

To further this commitment to sustainable practices and processes, the Turkish manufacturer is planning further expansions into strategic European markets with a focus on structural rapideners and sustainable production. Key initiatives include the integration of solar energy, digital traceability systems, as well as advanced automation across its production lines.

Demet concludes: “The Turkish rapidener market will continue to evolve toward specialisation and environmental accountability. Larger manufacturers will necessary to invest more in sustainability, Smart manufacturing and data transparency. Smaller producers may face challenges with certification and compliance costs. However, those who are adaptable, technically capable and sustainability focutilized will thrive. The future of the sector will be defined by collaboration, innovation and value added services.”
