Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has secured first place in Europe and fifth globally in the Chemicals category of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index, earning high marks for climate strategy, water stewardship, human rights, and product responsibility. The company also improved its Sustainalytics ESG risk rating from “Medium” to “Low Risk” with a score of 19.6 points, placing it among the top four percent of global specialty chemicals firms. CDP included LANXESS on its “A List,” while EcoVadis awarded it a Gold rating of 83 out of 100. LANXESS targets climate-neutral production by 2040 and a fully climate-neutral value chain by 2050.

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has once again been recognised among the global leaders in corporate sustainability, securing the top position in Europe and fifth place worldwide in the Chemicals category of the latest Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index. The company has shiftd from the “Medium Risk” category to the more favourable “Low Risk” classification after achieving a score of 19.6 points. This places LANXESS among the top four percent of companies in the global specialty chemicals segment and within the top six percent of the broader international chemical industest.

The company has also received recognition from several other global sustainability assessment organisations over the past year. Climate disclosure platform CDP once again included LANXESS in its prestigious “A List” for climate action while awarding an “A-” rating for water management initiatives. In addition, EcoVadis reaffirmed the company’s Gold sustainability rating, awarding 83 out of 100 points and placing LANXESS among the highest-performing organisations in its sector.
