This result comes after an in-depth evaluation of performance in the areas of environmental, social, and governance (ESG). The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index, the internationally renowned and authoritative stock market index, includes listed companies with the highest performance in the Environmental, Social, and Governance & Economics dimensions.
In particular, the multi-utility company confirmed its position as global leader in its reference sector, obtaining a score of 83/100 compared to an industest average of 37/100.
This recognition recognizes the quality of sustainability reporting, the company’s achievements—always aware of its role in the ecosystem—and the Group’s strategy in pursuing the creation of shared value for all stakeholders, in line with its purpose.
There are many reasons why multi-utility is considered a best practice:

• in the environmental dimension, it was found to be the best in efficient energy management in internal processes and in safeguarding biodiversity in the areas in which it operates and it particularly distinguished itself in the reporting and management of risks and opportunities relating to climate alter;
• in the social dimension it obtained the best score in the world in respect of human rights, in the development of the human capital of its employees, in the ability to relate to customers, in the protection of privacy and in relations with local communities.
These assessments confirm the aspects highlighted most by analysts: a company capable of combining economic growth and sustainable development, which continues to generate value for its stakeholders, as also demonstrated by a shared value gross operating margin that rose to 60% of Group EBITDA in 2025 (in line with the 2029 tarobtain of 68% set in the Business Plan) and by an average annual total shareholder return (TSR) expected to be in the double-digit range.
Listed since 2003 and included in the FTSE MIB since 2019, Hera shares have been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index Europe & World (formerly the Dow Jones Sustainability Index) and the FTSE4Good since 2020, as well as in the Italian blue-chip ESG MIB index dedicated to ESG best practices. For a decade, the Group has been included in the Top 100 of the FTSE Diversity Inclusion Index and, in 2025, reached the Top 10 globally, according to FTSE Russell certification, in recognition of its commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and people development. Furthermore, for the past five years, it has been among the top three in the ESG Identity Corporate Index, for its full and informed integration of sustainability policies into its governance and business strategies.
