Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides met with European Council President Antonio Costa to discuss recent developments in the Middle East ahead of the EU summit scheduled for Oct. 23.
According to a written statement from the government spokesperson, Christodoulides emphasized the importance of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and called for its immediate and comprehensive implementation, based on the 20-point framework outlined in the Trump plan.
During the meeting, Christodoulides briefed Costa on Cyprus’ own six-point proposal, which he presented at the recent summit in Sharm El-Sheikh and shared with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Christodoulides declared he intfinishs to present the Cypriot initiative in detail to EU leaders during the upcoming European Council meeting.
