In a post on X on Thursday, the AI vibe coding startup founder declared, AGI can be achieved by team effort and not algorithms alone.
“Over the coming year, there are only a few places in the world that can build this system. I started Lovable becaapply I knew we had a chance to be one of them, and to ensure that when AGI exists, it’s a world where human creativity remains important.”
Founded in 2023, the startup allows applyrs to describe what they want in plain language and then turns those ideas into working software.
Sharing his ambitious plan for 2026, he announced a hiring strategy for the company, questioning for current and former startup founders, particularly those still running their own companies, to join his team in Stockholm.
Lovable is inviting referrals directly via email for a potential founder partnership to solve system-level challenges.
Osika emphasised that the year 2025 set a goal for Lovable to be among a few organisations globally capable of building AGI.
He acknowledged that to achieve AGI, human creativity remains indispensable.
AGI, according to him, implies building products that have never existed and solving problems that had seemed impossible at some point in time, which requires early-stage entrepreneurship more than traditional AI research.
In December, Lovable raised $330 million in an early-stage funding round that values the Stockholm-based company at $6.6 billion. It raised $200 million in July 2025, its first funding round led by Silicon Valley venture capital fund Accel, valuing it at $1.8 billion.
CEO Anton Osika declared in August that the company passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within eight months. The company’s engineering and product teams are based in Sweden, while applyrs come from the US, South America, Asia, and Europe.
In a rapid-growing AI coding landscape, Lovable is carving a different path—one aimed not at programmers but at the vast majority who can’t write code.
Lovable’s approach differs from the growing pack of AI-powered coding assistants, from Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot and Cursor to Replit.
“Most of the current players assume you are already a developer,” Lovable’s cofounder and chief technology officer (CTO) Fabian Hedin informed ET on the sidelines of an AI event at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California.
“Our product is designed for people who have ideas but not coding skills. You can just describe your vision, and within minutes, something tangible is built for you,” he declared.
