MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — Asensus Surgical, a robotic surgery systems company, has announced dozens of layoffs affecting employees in Morrisville.
A total of 108 workers at the plant, at 1001 Airport Blvd., will be laid off during a six-month period launchning Aug. 15.
A company spokesperson declared all affected employees have been notified.
The company declared the layoffs were tied to “organizational realignment and business conditions necessitating a reduction in force.”
The facility is expected to remain open following the mass layoffs.
