RM230 Million Campus Bet Transforms Profits Threefold for Malaysian Education Group

Cyberjaya Education Group reports net profit surge in 1H on higher enrolment

KUALA LUMPUR: Cyberjaya Education Group Bhd saw its first-half earnings more than triple after years of investment in campus facilities and academic upgrades began to draw bigger student numbers.

The private higher education operator spent roughly RM230 million over five years on a purpose-built campus in Cyberjaya, facility expansions, and academic infrastructure improvements. Those outlays now appear to be translating into stronger financial performance.

Net profit for the six months through June 30, 2025 reached RM21.61 million, up from RM6.23 million a year earlier. Revenue climbed to RM99.89 million from RM86.5 million over the same period.

The momentum carried into the second quarter, traditionally the group’s strongest. Quarterly net profit hit RM13.15 million, again more than triple the RM3.78 million posted a year ago. Revenue for the quarter rose to RM52.71 million from RM44.76 million.

Management credited the gains to higher intake across faculties, improved student retention, and a stronger academic reputation. Total enrolment increased year-on-year, with particularly robust demand for healthcare, medicine, and allied sciences programmes.

The company said its priority had been to stabilise operations, then strengthen them before pursuing sustainable growth. Executives noted that students and parents have responded positively to changes in curriculum, campus facilities, and learner support services.

Going forward, Cyberjaya Education Group plans further programme development, healthcare laboratory upgrades, and digital infrastructure improvements to support teaching and day-to-day operations.
