The EU’s Anti-Racism Strategy for 2026-2030, part of the Union of Equality framework, pursues three core objectives: strengthening enforcement of existing anti-discrimination laws, including reviewing the 2000 Racial Equality Directive and bolstering victims’ rights; dismantling barriers to equal access in education, employment, healthcare, and housing through awareness campaigns; and building anti-racism partnerships across society by supporting the Commission’s Anti-Racism Coordinator and expanding funding for civil society organisations combating racism.
In-Depth:
The Strategy forms part of the Union of Equality and is structured around three main objectives:
- Strengthening the implementation and enforcement of existing EU anti-discrimination laws (reviewing the Racial Equality directive from 2000, strengthening the rights of victims, supporting equality bodies in the EU)
- Tackling barriers and foster inclusion in education, employment, healthcare, and houtilizing (launching awareness raising campaigns, promoting equal access initiatives)
- Building anti-racism partnerships at all levels of society (continuing the work of the Commission’s Anti-racism coordinator, increasing support to civil society organisations fighting racism)
