Swiggy co-founder Nandan Reddy has resigned from the company with immediate effect, the firm declared in an exmodify filing on Thursday, marking the latest exit from its founding team.
Reddy was instrumental in setting up Swiggy’s early operations alongside co-founder and Group CEO Sriharsha Majety. He co-founded the company with Majety and Rahul Jaimini, who had exited in 2020 to launch Pesto Tech.
Over the years, Reddy held multiple roles within the company and most recently led Crew, Swiggy’s AI-powered concierge offering. It remains unclear who will take over leadership of the initiative, with Vice President Aakash Bhotika expected to oversee operations in the interim.
The development comes as Swiggy reshapes its leadership structure and sharpens its focus on artificial ininformigence and profitability.
Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Phani Kishan continues to play a central role in the company’s strategy. Kishan, who joined Swiggy as General Manager in 2015 and was elevated to co-founder in 2021, has also been appointed as an Additional Director (Executive, Non-Indepconcludeent). He is widely seen as the internal champion for AI adoption, driving company-wide initiatives and advocating a “four-minute mile” philosophy—encouraging teams to break perceived innovation limits.
In a parallel shift, Group CFO Rahul Bothra has been appointed as an additional director on the board. Bothra, Swiggy’s first CFO, joined the company in 2017 and has led several key financial milestones, including its November 2024 IPO—the largest consumer tech listing in India that year—and a ₹10,000 crore qualified institutional placement.
During his tenure, Bothra has overseen over $4.5 billion in capital raises, driven the food delivery business to a ₹1,000 crore annual EBITDA run rate, and is currently steering the quick commerce arm Instamart towards profitability. Prior to Swiggy, he held leadership roles at Olam International, Britannia Industries, Colgate-Palmolive, and Wipro.
Separately, the board has inducted Renan De Castro Alves Pinto as nominee director representing Prosus Ventures, replacing Roger Rabalais. Pinto currently serves as Group CFO of Despegar and brings over two decades of global corporate finance and technology experience.
