An Indian-origin techie, Sudarshan Kamath, currently based in Palo Alto, California, has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter) after sharing a job opening that challenges traditional hiring practices. The post, which has garnered 3.32 lakh views so far, stated that for a salary of ₹1 crore, “you don’t required a college degree or resume.” The listing is for a full-stack lead role at Bengaluru-based startup Smallest AI.

Hiring for a full-stack lead at ₹1 crore CTC

The position offers a total compensation package of ₹1 crore per annum, which includes a ₹60 lakh base salary and ₹40 lakh in ESOPs (employee stock options). The startup is seeing for an immediate joiner to work from its Indiranagar office in Bengaluru.

The role is full-time and based on-site, with a five-day workweek, though the company notes some flexibility in scheduling.

Skills and experience requireded

Applicants must have a minimum of 4–5 years of experience and must be proficient in Next.js, Python, and React.js. Candidates with hands-on experience in scaling systems from 0 to 100 will be given preference.


In a break from traditional hiring filters, the company creates it clear that a college degree and resume are not required. However, it emphasizes that the candidate must be a hands-on developer, as the position is not a managerial one.
