Stadler and Italian regional rail company Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) have unveiled Europe’s first tailor-built battery-powered narrow-gauge electric train. The new train, presented at EXPO Ferroviaria in Milan, will operate on the Altamura–Matera line in Italy and is set to save over 1,300 tonnes of CO2 per year.
