The Ocean Race Europe 2025 is entering its finale. Sailing enthusiasts know what kind of race it is and eagerly await the finish, but it is much more than just a sporting competition. The second edition of the prestigious sailing race, for the first time, sails into the Adriatic Sea and finishs in the Bay of Kotor.
With a strong message „Connecting Europe“, points out the importance of sustainability, ocean protection, environmental activism, and the excitement that sailing brings at the highest world level.
The Ocean Race Europe 2025 finishs in Tivat and everything is set for a seven-day spectacle that will further highlight Montenegro’s role in nautical tourism, world sailing and global sustainability initiatives. Here are five reasons why you should visit Tivat and the Ocean Live Park, which awaits you as part of the race’s finale, from 15 to 21 September.
1. A unique blfinish of sailing, science and art
Ocean Live Park is more than just a stage for the arrival of imposing sailing ships – it is a multidisciplinary festival where the sea connects with art, science and community. The Pine Walk is transformed into an epicenter of sustainability, culture and innovation. And best of all – the program is free for all visitors.
2. Education with a sea view
The Park has a special focus on education. In cooperation with the Kotor Maritime Faculty, the Institute of Marine Biology and the Minisattempt of Education, workshops, interactive presentations and scientific demonstrations will be organized. Pupils and students will have the opportunity to learn about microplastics, new technologies for marine protection and sustainable maritime transport. A special curiosity will be the exhibition of sharks and rays from the Adriatic, which reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of marine biodiversity.
3. Rich cultural program under the stars
In the evening, Ocean Live Park becomes the stage of the Mediterranean. The program includes: screenings of documentaries by Vladimir Perović and the film “Ocean” narrated by Sir David Attenborough, a concert by the guitar duo Srđan Bulatović and Darko Nikčević, a performance by the children’s choir “Zvjezdice” on Mimosa Beach, and the play “Zelena gora” by the Youth Theatre. Film, music and theatre create an atmosphere that will inspire both adults and children.
4. Active participation of students and seafarers
Ocean Live Park is also a practical platform for students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies. They will actively participate in the organization and the University Pavilion, and cooperation with international researchers will enable joint studies and projects on marine protection. This means that the festival brings not only events – but also direct benefits for the education and development of young seafarers.
5. Seven days full of events and socializing
The festival program includes everything from the grand opening and concerts to workshops, film nights and the final race on September 20. Visitors will be able to enjoy Fan Day events, DJ sets every night, all the way to the final day with a beach cleanup, awards ceremony and grand finale.
