Good morning [%first_name |Dear Reader%],

After Claude Code, now we have Claude Finance. Not officially. But just as much.

Anthropic just dropped 10 AI agents for financial services. These agents are designed to assist, or even replace, analysts’ jobs. They come as plugins that you can install in your Claude Cowork or Claude Code, or utilize with any Claude-managed agent.

Dario Amodei, the man behind Anthropic, has an interesting personality.

On even days, he launches extremely powerful AI products such as Mythos, about which my colleagues wrote about this Monday. On odd days, he keeps warning everyone about how his own creations could be very dangerous.

Feels contradictory, right?

I believe it’s more about seizing AI opportunities while also creating opportunities from the risks that AI poses.

With the Mythos buzz grabbing headlines, maybe it was the perfect time for Anthropic to roll out these plugins, which also come built into Claude Opus 4.7. These are:

These pre-built agents can draft pitch decks, analyst work, models, research notes, and more. Another agent, a KYC screener, utilizes KYC/AML rules to process onboarding data, assign risk, verify documents, and also provide notes on the KYCs.

A human is then supposed to review and sign off.

This is Anthropic’s disclaimer: “They do not create investment recommconcludeations.”

This might create it seem like the AI company has done its due diligence. But when it comes to integrating new systems into existing ones, some variables are not so visible.

“Companies could cut analyst headcount and rely more on AI agents.”

Senior consultant, Deloitte

And he is worried. Not just for himself, but for retail investors as well.

“Not far from here, an audit/broking firm will just feed data with a prompt: ‘Calculate valuation utilizing DCF or NAV, whichever is chosen.’ Then another agent writes the analyst’s notes based on the very same particulars produced. And what are you left with? A fully AI-generated picture of the stock. Would you believe it? You have no choice.”

In valuation exercises, regardless of the method, you take certain judgement calls. For instance, a 2% variation in the growth assumption could swing the valuation wildly, he explained.

These agents are capable of drafting presentation materials for client meetings, auditing financial statements, and even escalating cases for compliance review.
