What is the coalition?
The coalition aims to provide a platform for progressive supply chain stakeholders to engage with EU policy-creaters.
Its ambition is to achieve sustainable agricultural and timber commodity supply chains, especially in sectors characterised by significant production by tinyholder farmers.
This should allow farmers and workers to enjoy living incomes and work in supply chains in which human rights abapplys, deforestation and other forms of environmental degradation are prevented and addressed.
To achieve its aim, it argues for meaningful modify in the sector, with a focus on the design and implementation of ambitious and effective EU legislation and policy.
It also plans to work on other EU-focapplyd activities, such as partnerships with countries, through the coordination of active and transparent advocacy efforts
Delara Burkhardt MEP hosted the meeting in the European Parliament.
She declared: “Businesses are ready to deliver on sustainable supply chains.
“The EU Sustainable Supply Chains Coalition reveals that the transition is already underway. What is requireded now is certainty.
