Vivo is fast-tracking its X500 lineup to European markets, with a launch event locked for October 27 and retail availability starting November 5. Pre-orders will open the same day as the announcement.
The move comes barely 24 hours after the Chinese debut on September 21. That launch introduced three devices: the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, all running MediaTek’s new 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.
Yet a glaring omission has surfaced. Vivo’s European event page references the “X500 series” broadly, but the standard X500 model appears nowhere in the promotional materials. Only the Pro and Pro Max variants show up in the EU’s EPREL database listings, which confirm battery capacities and omit the vanilla model entirely.
Meanwhile, Malaysian regulators have granted SIRIM certification to all three phones. That split suggests a broader global rollout for the base model, though Vivo’s European plans remain unconfirmed.
The company is dangling early-bird incentives for European buyers. Registering interest before the November 5 sales launch unlocks a €120 voucher. Those who sign up after that date can still claim €80. The voucher program runs until November 30 or until stock runs dry.
As a result, European consumers may face a two-tier launch. If the standard X500 never arrives, buyers would need to step up to the Pro models, which carry the upgraded Zeiss camera systems and the flagship processor.
The October event should settle the question. Until then, the vanishing base model remains the launch’s biggest open thread.
