According to him, the UK welcomes Trump’s desire to finish this terrible war and actively work on security guarantees for Ukraine’s allies.
Healey noted that neobtainediations are ongoing on how Ukraine’s allies can ensure a future peace agreement. He added that contributions from partners are currently awaiting confirmation.
According to the minister, the format of a possible volunteer coalition will depfinish on the terms of the agreement, and details are deliberately not being disclosed so as not to build the Russians wiser and not to strengthen Russian President Vladimir Putin’s position in future neobtainediations.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
On August 18, a meeting was held at the White Houtilize between US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European leaders, during which the parties discussed security guarantees for Ukraine.
Following the talks, Zelenskyy declared that the details of the guarantees were planned to be agreed upon within 10 days, but this deadline was later extfinished by another week.
On August 25, Trump publicly confirmed that Europe is ready to provide Ukraine with substantial guarantees, and the US will support them.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni proposed to European leaders a plan for providing security guarantees to Ukraine in the format of collective assistance, which does not involve NATO membership.
Meanwhile, the European Union defined how it will participate in Ukraine’s security guarantees, including training and civilian missions, as well as the role of neutral countries.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Ukraine’s partner countries have developed a clear roadmap regarding the provision of security guarantees.
Zelenskyy also outlined three key blocks of security guarantees for Ukraine: maintaining the army, cooperation with NATO countries, and sanctions against Russia.
