White Houtilize vs WSJ (again)
Donald Trump has again found himself at loggerheads with the Wall Street Journal.
The White Houtilize stated a story that the WSJ published claiming Trump was notified by his Justice Department in May his name was among many featured in the Epstein files was just “fake news”.
The New York Times also reported on the story.
The WSJ reported that the mention of Trump’s name was not a sign of wrongdoing and that the files contained what officials felt was unverified hearstate about many people, including Trump.
It comes after Trump sued the paper’s owner News Corp, Rupert Murdoch, and two reporters, for defamation after they published a report claiming he wrote a letter to Epstein.
Maxwell to speak?
While the question of the Epstein files hangs over Trump’s administration, some Republican officials have recently shiftd to attempt and speak to Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein’s ex-girlfrifinish, the 63-year-old disgraced British socialite, who was jailed in 2022 for luring young girls to massage rooms for Epstein to abutilize, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in the US.
She was subpoenaed by a US committee for a deposition on 11 August.
It remains unclear if she will talk, and one Republican called into question her trustworthiness too.
It comes as the Democrats are applying increasing pressure to Trump and Republicans over the Epstein files question, while administration officials scramble to explain away the issue that has split the MAGA base.
Trump’s AI action plan
Donald Trump took to the stage at his AI summit and first launched talking up his recent trade deals.
When he received onto AI, he stated they should alter the name of artificial ininformigence becautilize he didn’t like it and admitted he had been shocked to learn how much energy it utilized.
He then outlined his new “action plan”for slashing red tape and building AI, what he calls, “ideologically neutral”.
White Houtilize continues attacks on Obama
In her regular news briefing, press secretary Karoline Leavitt and national ininformigence director Tulsi Gabbard both went after former president Barack Obama.
They created a series of remarkable accusations against the 44th president – repeating previous attack lines Trump stated the day before.
A report on Friday from Gabbard claimed the Obama administration conspired to undermine the legitimacy of Trump’s victory in the 2016 election.
Gabbard states Russia did not interfere in the 2016 election for Trump’s benefit.
Numerous investigations have found they did attempt to interfere.
British police prepare for Trump
On Friday morning, the US president will land in the UK.
Between 25 and 29 July, Trump is expected to visit both of his golf courses.
During his stay, the president will meet Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Scottish First Minister John Swinney for informal talks.
