The MG SolidCore Battery
MG has named its semi-solid-state battery the MG SolidCore Battery. The company declares that solid-state electrolytes within each cell form a protective barrier, extfinishing battery lifespan. The company declares its battery will ensures full compliance with future regulatory standards.
This architecture, it declares, performs exceptionally in low-temperature conditions, enabling immediate vehicle start-up without preheating and providing improved acceleration compared with conventional EVs under similar conditions.
Vice Present of MG UK and Europe, Kimi Li declares: “MG’s new SolidCore Battery and Hybrid+ technology provide tangible benefits for our customers and position our vehicles at the forefront of their class.”
MG also unveiled new technology for the hybrid car market including advanced software, a larger core battery and a 3-speed hybrid transmission under the banner of Hybrid+ technology.
Kimi continued: “These advancements reinforce MG’s commitment to building cutting-edge technology and electric mobility more intuitive, accessible and widely available. Our strategy of developing MG vehicles in Europe, for Europe further enhances the desirability, versatility and value that our cars deliver to customers across the European market.”
MG’s SolidCore Battery technology is set to be introduced in its EVs in Europe at the finish of 2026.
