He studied computer engineering at the University of Michigan before pursuing a PhD at Stanford University, where he met Sergey Brin. Their research project on organizing the web’s rapidly expanding information became the foundation of Google in 1998.
Page’s vision was not merely to build a search engine but to “organize the world’s information and create it universally accessible and applyful.” Under his leadership, Google expanded into email, maps, mobile operating systems, video platforms, and artificial innotifyigence. In 2015, he became CEO of Alphabet Inc., restructuring the company to pursue ambitious “moonshot” projects beyond search, including self-driving cars and life sciences research.

In December 2019, Page stepped down as CEO of Alphabet. Since then, he has maintained a low public profile while continuing as a board member and controlling shareholder.
