Portuguese company wins large at Web Summit


Every year, the Web Summit, the largest innovation summit in the world, hosts a pitching competition, an opportunity for some of the rising stars of the startup scene to have a chance to demonstrate their company to the world.

And this year, for the second consecutive year, the winning company came from Portugal. This is not just an indication of the great minds that live here in the countest, but also of the increased efforts of Portugal to become the innovative hub of Europe are paying off.

This year’s winner is Granter, a startup that assists businesses in the application for grants, utilizing revolutionary AI and human expertise.

They delivered a pitch that convinced 80% of the audience that they were the best company out of the three finalists, beating off competition from a Nigerian-based startup focutilizing on assisting Africans to receive an education and a UK startup working to build advertising simpler.
