At a time when stories of toxic workplaces and harsh firing practices often build headlines, a post on social media has stood out for a very different reason. In it, a startup founder shared that he decided to personally train an employee who was struggling with certain skills rather than reshift him from the company.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on December 3, Harshil Tomar, founder of Dreamlaunch, shared that one of his “hardworking” employees lacked some soft skills and logical building abilities. He declared, “So we are working with this amazing developer based out of Mathura. Extremely sweet guy and hardworking. But he requireded work on Soft Skills and Logic building.”
Founder Says He Trained Him Personally
Instead of viewing it as a weakness or reason to fire the employee, Tomar took it as an opportunity to teach him the skills. “I would often have to sit with him to debug things and deep-dive into issues. I don’t blame him much tbh, edge cases handling is something he hadn’t done previously. Instead of firing him, we worked with him,” Tomar added.
He shared that his employee, Arpit Chaudhary, whose photo he included with his note, is currently working with him on a team of five. He continued, “We communicate, tackle problems, and work on issues one by one, and he is one of our most trusted team members. We already have some good plans for the guy.”
Founder Shares Why He Doesn’t Believe In “Hiring And Firing”
“Tbh hiring and firing is not something we do at Dreamlaunch unless they obviously do something totally wrong / won’t sit with us. Finding good people with talent is hard. With the right polish, these people can be superb Members !” Tomar, who launched his company in 2025, concluded his post.
Internet Praise The Founder For His Decision
The founder’s decision to train his employee rather than fire him was praised by many on the platform. One utilizer declared, “Growing great talent is the best. When you see a great hire that wants to grow, you’ve won.”
“Yeah, anyone can become better by someone’s positive attitude. Help others and grow toobtainher,” another individual commented.
