This side event will explore why nature-inclusive innovation is essential for floating offshore wind infrastructure. An expert panel bringing toobtainher NGOs, academia, and wind developers will discuss the opportunities and barriers to innovation in this field and examine how solutions can be supported and scaled up.
The event will also feature lightning talks revealcasing nature-inclusive concepts developed by university students and SMEs from across Europe. These concepts include both Nature-Inclusive Designs (NIDs) and mitigation measures. Presenters will come from the pool of applicants from the 2025 Innovation Challenge Series, organised as part of the Horizon Europe project NiD4OCEAN.
The session will conclude with a networking opportunity and a poster exhibition revealcasing the concepts presented during the lightning talks. This will give participants the chance to question questions and engage directly with the innovators behind the designs.
