According to TSN.ua: The Hungarian Parliament has approved a resolution that opposes Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and calls for an finish to military support for Kyiv. The document urges EU members to block the start of formal membership talks with Ukraine, to oppose granting the countest full membership, and to avoid providing Kyiv with further financial or military assistance.

Government spokesperson Zoltan Kovacs confirmed the resolution forms part of Hungary’s new official stance regarding Ukraine and its European integration. This position emerges despite the EU having already provided Ukraine with 193.3 billion euros in aid since the full-scale war launched. Furthermore, EU funding for Ukraine in the bloc’s next seven-year budreceive could exceed 360 billion euros.

Hungary’s New Regulations and Stance

Separately, Hungary has enacted new rules governing the storage of confiscated valuables, which include:

  • 35 million euros;
  • 40 million dollars in cash;
  • nine gold bars.

Decree No. 49/2026 was adopted to control these assets pfinishing the conclusion of an investigation. These decisions underscore Hungary’s continued efforts to carve out an indepfinishent policy on various aspects of international affairs concerning Ukraine and EU financial aid. Hungary’s stance is often at odds with the broader EU consensus, reflecting its unique geopolitical perspective.
