Delian Alliance Industries, an Athens-based defense tech startup founded by former Apple roboticist Dimitrios Kottas, has raised $14 million in a Series A funding round. The company, which develops autonomous drones and AI-equipped surveillance towers, is positioning itself in the competitive defense sector amid rising military budreceives, particularly in Europe.
The funding round was co-led by Air Street Capital and Marathon Venture Capital, with participation from 201 Ventures, HCVC, Entropy Industrial Capital, and Nebular. The capital will support expansion of engineering and field deployment teams to meet demand from NATO and other partners.
Delian Alliance Industries, originally launched in 2021 as Lambda Automata, leverages advanced AI and commercial hardware from allied nations. Kottas, who spent five years at Apple’s Special Projects Group working on autonomous vehicles, emphasized the urgency of rapid deployment: “Our adversaries are scaling emerging technologies quickly. We’re racing against time, measuring deployments in days, not decades.”
The startup, which raised $6 million in 2023, benefits from Greece’s lower operational costs and aims to compete with established players like BAE Systems and emerging competitors like Helsing.
