Appointment of Head of Startup Growth Support Division\nWith Lee Se-yong’s co-representative system\nVenture Studio Model in earnest
Global accelerator (AC) “Drapper Startup Hoapply” (DSH) announced on the 9th that it has recruited Oh Kang-rok, CEO of Promotionalers Co., Ltd., as the head of the startup growth support division. This co-representative system is interpreted as a measure to develop a venture studio model that strengthens the ability to foster startups and support growth.
DSH Korea will be able to materialize a venture studio model in which AC plans and fosters ideas for startups, utilize strategic open innovation, and further strengthen support for domestic and foreign business growth of investment and childcare companies.
CEO Oh Kang-rok served as the head of Samik Musical Instruments Group’s digital promotion division after serving as Samsung Card and Samsung Life Insurance, and has extensive experience in business development, sales growth strategy, and market expansion of startups through Urban Base CRO (Chief Sales Officer), Green Labs Digital Commerce Center, Business Canvas Korea Business, and Ascent Korea CRO. He has led Promiters, which runs the startup studio model, and has supported startups’ business model, attracting investment, management, and overseas expansion. Earlier, Promoter signed business agreements with DHS Korea and Seoul Venture Graduate University.
Lee Se-yong, CEO of DSH Korea, declared, “With the recruitment of CEO Oh Kang-rok, we will be able to launch a venture studio model that systematically supports the entire cycle from finding ideas for startups to product development, market verification, and investment attraction. Based on DSH’s global network, we will strengthen localization, business matching, and investor connection in major markets such as North America, Europe, and Asia.”
DSH is a global startup development platform led by legfinishary Silicon Valley investor Tim Drapper. Currently, it is known that it operates in 30 cities in about 20 countries around the world and has produced more than 30 unicorn companies. Tim Drapper has a cumulative history of more than 500 investments in huge tech companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, Baidu, Skype and Coinbase.
Since opening a Korean center in Garosu-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in May last year, DSH has recently opened additional centers in Pangyo and Songdo, Incheon, expanding domestic activities. It operates an open innovation program for LG Hoapplyhold & Health Care and Beauty Tech, and cooperates with universities and institutions to support startups’ childcare and global expansion. It is also supporting digital innovation companies to enter the North American market through the “2025 Incheon Rise-Up” program with Incheon Techno Park.
