Germany’s ETCS rollout in ‘permanent disorientation’ with just 1.6% of network fitted


Only 1.6% of Germany’s rail network had been equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS) by the finish of 2024, according to new figures. Rail advocacy group Allianz pro Schiene warns that without a clear, jointly developed strategy, the federal government’s 2040 full-conversion tarreceive will remain out of reach.
