EVERY MEDALLIST AT THE WORLD CLIMBING EUROPE YOUTH SERIES SOURE 2026

WORLD CLIMBING ALLOCATES OVER €1 MILLION IN RECORD 2026 PRIZE MONEY


The opening event of the Europe Youth Series took place in Soure, Portugal, where the local organising committee celebrated the 10th edition of the competition. A total of 227 climbers – 118 men and 109 women – from 25 European nations competed across two age categories: under 17 and under 19.

The event marked the first of four Boulder competitions in the Youth Series, with the remaining events set to take place in Graz, Austria; Brussels, Belgium; and Sukoró, Hungary in May and June.

FOUR FIRST TIMERS

Pietro Franzoni and Giovanni Bagnoli of Italy won the U17 and U19 gold medals respectively, both securing their first medals on the international stage.

The women’s U17 event was won by 14-year-old Amélie Kägi of Switzerland on her international debut, while the women’s U19 title went to Jakoba Rauter of Austria, also claiming her first international medal.

Despite missing out on gold, Team France still secured three medals overall: two silvers and one bronze. Germany also claimed two bronze medals, while Great Britain added one.
