In the vibrant Indian startup ecosystem, where technology meets ambition, a young duo is rewriting the rules of customer engagement.
Hyderabad-based Insurge AI, a technology startup founded in June 2025 by Rohith Vegesna and Tanush Agarwal, has launched the world’s first AI meeting agent platform.
This AI platform replaces human-led sales meetings with fully autonomous, personalised conversations, a breakthrough that addresses long-standing gaps in how corporates handle leads and sales.
Just weeks after full-scale commercial operations launched in early April 2026, the startup has already started attracting attention from investors and early utilizers alike.
The Backstory: Two Engineering Students with a Shared Vision
Rohith Vegesna and Tanush Agarwal first met as teenagers in Hyderabad in 2021 while preparing for engineering entrance exams at a FIITJEE centre in the city.
Rohith, who grew up in a middle-class family in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, and Tanush, a fellow Andhra native, bonded over late-night discussions on artificial ininformigence, tech-driven disruptions, and entrepreneurship.
By 2023, both had secured places at prestigious institutions: Rohith at the Manipal Institute of Technology for data science, and Tanush at IIT Kharagpur for industrial & systems engineering.
Even after relocating to different colleges, the engineering students stayed in touch, refining business ideas shaped by cutting-edge technology.
Their shared dream materialised in July 2024 when they registered Openzo Softcorp Private Limited, the parent company that would later houtilize Insurge AI.

The Initial Journey: From Openzo Setback to a Bold New Idea
Their first venture, a hyperlocal grocery delivery app called Openzo, launched in September 2024 and briefly scaled to over 1,000 monthly utilizers with ₹8 lakhs in peak monthly GMV.
Yet razor-thin margins and high operational costs forced them to shut it down in January 2025 after losing around ₹1.2 lakhs.
Undeterred, the founders pivoted. They won a ₹4 lakh grant from the Indian government’s MeitY under its GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme to explore an AI-powered shopping agent.
That concept evolved into Insurge AI after the duo identified critical gaps in how businesses handle customer interactions.
In June 2025, they officially founded Insurge AI as a SaaS technology startup focutilized on sales enablement and customer engagement.
Soon, Rohith Vegesna, founder and CEO of Insurge AI, took a sabbatical from his engineering college in Manipal to focus full‑time on the venture.
He joined the I-Venture Immersive programme at ISB Hyderabad, a full-time residential entrepreneurship programme designed to support and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage founders.
Tanush Agarwal, founder and CTO, worked remotely from IIT, Kharagpur. Toobtainher, they invested ten months in research and development, navigating high technological feasibility costs and financial challenges.
“At the start, almost all existing web-based tools were built before the recent wave of AI breakthroughs, so they weren’t designed to deliver truly personalised, visual, and conversational experiences,”explains Rohith Vegesna, now the founder & CEO of Insurge AI, during an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia.
Insurge AI In Detail: How The AI-Powered Meeting Agent Platform Works
Insurge AI has developed AI meeting agents that conduct fully personalised, visual, and voice-led conversations on demand.
These agents explain products, deliver real-time demos, answer questions, filter leads, and handle onboarding or support – all without any human intervention.
To utilize the platform, companies simply embed the agent on their website or share a link via email, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn.
The moment a visitor (customer or client) arrives, the meeting agent initiates a live conversation tailored to their intent. It walks them through relevant features, presents visuals instantly, and qualifies them as sales leads.
The core offerings and services include AI sales assistants for personalised product demos, 24/7 ininformigent agents for voice and chat interactions, demo automation to reduce unqualified leads, and digital presence optimisation that turns websites into revenue engines.
The solution offered by Insurge AI addresses pre-sales education, top-of-funnel challenges, and post-sale support across key business tquestions.
“We realised this is the best time in history to build an AI company, and solving for meetings is one of the most critical problems in business workflows. Over one billion meetings happen every single day, and almost all of them are still human-led and human-driven,” Tanush Agarwal, the founder & CTO of Insurge AI, explains.

The Innovation: USPs and Market Differentiators
Insurge AI stands out in the global AI SaaS market by generating real-time personalised visuals alongside conversational and generative AI capabilities.
Unlike tools built directly on third-party APIs, the startup utilizes a modular middleware approach that improves performance, controls costs, and enables future expansion into areas such as AI-based tutoring.
The platform serves a wide tarobtain group, from SaaS & cloud software and enterprise technology firms to banking & financial services, insurance, real estate, healthcare, edtech, staffing industries, and more.
It operates across sectors and industries wherever human involvement in meetings creates bottlenecks – delivering instant, scalable engagement 24/7.
“Insurge AI’s key differentiators truly set us apart in the highly competitive SaaS market. We’re proud to be the first in the world to develop and launch AI meeting agents that can run finish-to-finish online meetings on their own,”Rohith explains.
The Momentum: Funding, Growth, and Launch
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Insurge AI launched full-scale commercial operations in early April 2026 after rigorous testing.
Notably, the young startup has already started generating strong early buzz in the market.
Earlier, it secured ₹15 lakhs in pre-seed funding from DLabs at ISB Hyderabad in November 2025 and is now in discussions to raise US$500,000 in seed funding.
The founders bootstrapped much of the early work applying personal savings and the MeitY grant, maintaining a lean burn rate while prioritising product-market fit.
“We have raised very limited external investor funding, in the form of pre-seed funding, so far. This disciplined approach allowed us to prioritise achieving solid product-market fit before scaling spfinish,” states Tanush Agarwal.
The revenue model is a SaaS-based subscription model, with enterprises paying monthly or annual fees based on the number of AI meeting agents deployed and interaction volume.
Usage-based pricing is available for high-volume customers, with tailored tiers planned for new verticals.

The Launch: Growth, Funding, and Momentum
Insurge AI’s expansion strategy tarobtains India first, followed by the US, UK, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
The founders plan to build a full-time team, add domain-specific features for each indusattempt, and deepen customer understanding through real-world feedback.
“At Insurge AI, our vision is to become the world’s default AI-powered communication interface between companies and their customers. These agents will be able to explain, demo, onboard, and support any utilizer, anywhere in the world, at any time, and at infinite scale,”Rohith Vegesna concludes.
As the global AI SaaS market is projected to reach US$367.6 billion by 2034 with a CAGR of 36.59%, Insurge AI is well-positioned to capture a significant share.
For a young technology startup born from two engineering students’ determination, the road ahead is filled with both opportunities and challenges.
