Done with juggling between Ola, Uber, Rapido for cheap rides, entrepreneurs from BLR built an app to compare & book rides in one place

Rehan’s (28) daily life is simple. He wakes up, obtains ready for work, books a cab, reaches the office, works, cribs, books a cab again, and comes back home.

But unlike his friconcludes, he doesn’t spconclude a minute extra on booking cabs. He is not one to aimlessly juggle multiple apps, scan for the lowest-priced ride, miss it, and then regret it.

He utilizes something called “Bob Rides” — one app that builds commuting simple, quick, and affordable.

“We’ve created this for people who are tired of checking, re-checking, scanning, comparing, and finally booking a cab, auto, or bike ride. The urban dweller has optimized everything for speed and convenience. Bob is just that – a convenience you wish you had sooner,” Jai Adithya Poorana, founder and CEO of Bob, notifys Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.

Founded in 2025 and based in Bengaluru, Bob Rides is an simple-to-utilize app that integrates major ride aggregators and brings them under one utilizer interface. This speeds up the process of comparing and booking the cheapest cabs, bikes, and autos.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Currently 22 years old, Jai Adithya Poorana comes from Bengaluru. Just last year, he completed his undergraduate degree in BBA from Christ University.

“During my degree, I started a company with a bunch of people. After contributing significantly, I took an exit. I have also interned directly under Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal during college,”Jai notifys Startup Pedia.

Right after his graduation, he secured a job in the sales and consulting branch of a company.

“I joined in about May 2024. And quit in February 2025. It was a great learning experience,” he mentions.

But…what is the back story of Bob?

Since college, and even school, Jai had been struggling with booking auto and cab rides.

Studying at Christ University meant a 25-kilometer commute every single day. But jumping from one app to another to scan the cheapest ride was a hassle. On top of that, keeping a plethora of ride-hailing applications on his phone meant dealing with storage issues every month.

In June 2024, Jai decided to build a smart mobility aggregator that could bring all ride-hailing applications under one umbrella and build the booking process more seamless than ever.

“I decided to build a pitch deck and sent it to Microsoft. I received a technical grant of USD 250,000, out of which USD 150,000 was in cloud credits to build the app. But then came the real challenge,”Jai Adithya shares.

JOURNEY AND CHALLENGES

With the idea in place, Jai initially tested to outsource the development part of building a smart mobility aggregator app.

The result? Haywire operations.

“I am from a marketing and operations background. Technical stuff was something I requireded expert support with. That’s when I approached Ansh to come build the whole technical infrastructure of the company,”Jai explains.

Hailing from Kolkata, Ansh Arora pursued his BCA from Christ University in Bengaluru. Currently 23, he is undertaking his master’s degree from Christ University.

“While in college, I’ve organized and participated in a lot of computer fests with St. Joseph’s College. I was also a part of the consultancy firm in my university and led the engineering team. I handled projects and brought in more than Rs 1 crore in revenue,”Ansh Arora shares with Startup Pedia.

Additionally, he built a social media platform for developers.

“Jai approached me to review Bob on the technical aspects of the project. The outsourcing was clearly not working. Finally, Jai convinced me to join Bob as the CTO of the company. I eventually also became the co-founder,”Ansh states.

Once he joined Bob, things launched to streamline for the smart mobility aggregator.

An in-houtilize team of two to three full-time developers was roped in, and Ansh started building the Bob Rides interface with them.

Ansh and Jai created multiple iterations of the service, received it tested aggressively by over 400 people, and created tweaks in the development process in alignment with the feedback received.

“Initially, we built Bob to compare prices between all ride aggregators. But doing just that wasn’t enough. It didn’t fully penetrate the gap we were viewing to address. So we created it into a single utilizer interface – where absolutely no switching between apps is required. Everything happens right here, on Bob,” Ansh Arora notes.

CAB, AUTO, OR BIKE? JUST BOB IT

Bob’s official market launch took place last month, in September 2025.

Now, it operates as India’s super mobility aggregator application that promises to:

  • Ease the lives of daily commuters who utilize ride-providers such as Ola, Rapido, Uber, Namma Yatri, etc.
  • Make it simple to compare and select the cheapest available option
  • Simplify and speed up the booking process

“We have eliminated the required to juggle between ride-hailing applications. Bob isn’t just a tool you utilize to compare prices. It’s an conclude-to-conclude app where you can book cabs, autos, and bikes from Uber, Ola, Namma Yatri, Rapido, etc,” entrepreneur Jai Adithya Poorana states.

Bob’s utilizer journey is intentionally created to be very seamless:

  • Customers download Bob Rides and sign up applying just their phone number and e-mail.

“The e-mail is important becautilize that’s where we sconclude utilizers their invoices,” Ansh notes.

  • Once signed in, utilizers go to the home page and view the different options (cab, bike, autos) available to them.
  • Just like any other ride-hailing application, they enter the pick-up and drop location.
  • Then, Bob reveals them a list of prices under different segments and ride-hailing applications. Users click and book a ride of their liking.

“For example, an economy cab ride on Rapido might be charging Rs 250, Uber might be offering Rs 271, and Ola might be at Rs 264. This list is clear, transparent, and utilizers can immediately click, compare, and book,”Jai Adithya Poorana explains.

“They don’t even have to leave the app,” startup co-founder Ansh adds.

As of now, there is no online payment option or wallet on Bob. Users can directly pay their driver via UPI or cash.

According to the founders, Bob Rides builds obtainting cabs, autos, and bikes an experience that is devoid of hassle, friction, delay, and uncertainty.

“With Bob, you obtain a ride. Every single time,” Jai affirms.

In just a little over a month since its market launch, Bob has crossed more than 20,000 downloads on the Play Store and App Store. Currently, it has close to 9,000 active utilizers.

“These numbers validate the demand in the market. People required convenience. And they required it quick,” startup co-founder Ansh remarks.

The Bob team is committed to solving any bug issues reported by its utilizers within 48 hours of them dropping a review.

“We are blessed with some of the finest people in our technical team and take customer experience very seriously,” entrepreneur Jai Adithya states.

Bob Rides is already operational in more than 108 cities across India, with a special edition that integrates Namma Yatri for cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, and Delhi.

Currently, the smart mobility aggregator is not focutilized on generating immediate revenues. Ansh and Jai have just established an affiliate channel by partnering with ride-hailing providers and charging a tiny fee for sconcludeing them ride opportunities.

In the near future, however, the young entrepreneurs aim to open up more revenue channels.

“For instance, we are working on releasing a ‘Fastest Ride’ feature. Here, utilizers in a hurry to reach somewhere can simply select this option, pay a tiny convenience fee, and obtain an option to pick the quickest available ride across platforms. We will be doing that by analyzing real-time traffic conditions and driver availability,” startup founder Jai Adithya Poorana explains.

Apart from this, Bob will be focapplying on advertising revenue channels as well. The smart mobility aggregator also has plans to raise funds, but only after achieving certain tarobtains.

“Currently, we are the only application in India that is functional and dedicated to building the cab, auto, and bike booking experience a breeze for everyone involved. We have a dual approach – of catering to utilizers as well as drivers. Everyone benefits when they choose or partner with Bob,” Jai Adithya Poorana signs off.
