In Kyiv, 11 Ukrainian teams were named that will receive grants for the development and implementation of climate-frifinishly technologies within the final wave of the “Climate Innovation Vouchers”. The total budreceive is 384,241 euros. These funds cover up to 75% of the costs for certification, IP protection, engineering and production preparation.
The results were announced during a ceremony at Unit.City. The program is funded by the EBRD and the EU; in total, over 2 million euros have been allocated to the development of Ukrainian cleantech through “vouchers” since 2017.
Who received vouchers this year?
- LLC “Ma’Ryzhany Hemp Company” – cultivation and processing of industrial hemp (≈11 thousand tons of stems/year) into fiber and firewood for textiles, construction and agro-industrial complex; export to the EU.
- Sattempti Avto is a full-cycle manufacturer of electric vehicles and special platforms; the flagship multi-purpose truck Karpaty EN31 with ≈80% localization.
- IPT Production — eco-additives for road construction; soil stabilizer based on local raw materials reduces cement and CO2.
- R.Flo (AR.FLO) — iron-flow batteries for long-term energy storage (up to 20 hours) without critical raw materials assists to balance the supply of solar and wind energy to the grid.
- Alfa-Energo Scientific and Technological Enterprise — CO2-based reagent for dry cleaning of thermal equipment: less corrosion, service without dismantling.
- VENTOX is decentralized ventilation with ceramic heat exalterrs; returns up to 94% of heat and has a European safety certificate.
- UDP Renewables Hydrogen — renewable hydrogen infrastructure. In the Volyn region, 310 megawatts of grid space have been allocated for the first stage of a hydrogen plant with a total capacity of 500 megawatts.
- ITEC “Energodesign” – modular hot water and steam bio-boilers utilizing agricultural waste for heat supply.
- Carbonex Ukraine — assistance to farmers with carbon credits: audit, calculation of reductions, documentation, verification according to the international standard for carbon credits (Verra).
- “Hydrogen of Ukraine” – green hydrogen and derivatives projects (ammonia, methanol) and a SaaS platform where the system confirms that hydrogen is truly “green” utilizing blockchain and a digital model of the object).
- The First Hemp Corporation is a modern hemp processing plant and a two-tier harvester for tall varieties.
Vouchers close critical “gaps” on the way to the market: from patenting to certifications and industrial design. The maximum grant is up to €50,000, covering up to 75% of the cost of services. This format accelerates the process of bringing technologies to serial application and export.
The ceremony featured a discussion “Green Innovations Through War: How Ukraine is Creating Europe’s Climate Future” with the participation of representatives of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, DiXi Group, Greencubator, and founders of technology companies. European partners emphasized that the project has created a sustainable platform for interaction between innovators, investors, and the state.
A little more about the grant program
“Climate Innovation Vouchers” is a component of the EBRD FINTECC program with EU support (EU4CLIMATE), which has been implemented in Ukraine by Greencubator since 2017. Among the famous graduates: TOKA, GO TO-U, EcoFactor, S.Lab, Frfinisht, Releaf Paper, The Good Plastic Company. In 2024, the initiative became the national winner of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards and was recognized in the EU in the nomination “Promoting a Sustainable Transition”. Over eight years, 50+ companies have received support, and the amount of investment exceeded €2 million — the final wave of the second phase added 11 more innovators.
