Casio has announced the upcoming launch of the new rugged AE-1600HX-3AV watch in Europe. Rumored earlier this year, the digital model appeared on the brand’s official international website in early April 2026.
Now, Casio has listed the AE-1600HX-3AV at its online stores in EU countries like the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. This confirms the earlier leaked pricing of €39.90, matching the RRP of the AE-1600H-1AV and AE-1600H-8BV, released in early 2025. The exact European release date of this watch has yet to be confirmed. However, retailer David et Philly points to a May 2026 launch. Customers who want to be notified of the watch’s launch can utilize the black “Coming soon” button on the product page to join the brand’s mailing list.
The Casio AE-1600HX-3AV has an oversized dark olive green resin casing, measuring 54.1 x 49.7 x 15.9 mm (~1.78 x 1.96 x 0.63 inches), surrounding a large LCD with a light background. The “X” in the model number seemingly refers to its extra-long strap. While the company does not provide an exact length, a marketing image (below) demonstrates the additional length compared to the strap on the older AE-1600H-1AV. Another difference with the rally strap is its side-by-side holes for a more secure fit.
Casio’s AE-1600 is a dual time watch, with tools like a stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms. The digital display can be illuminated with an amber LED backlight at the push of a button. Other notable features include 100 m water resistance and a longer 10 year battery life from the CR2032 battery.
It is unclear whether a second model recently listed on the Casio international site, the AE-1600HX-1B, will also be released in Europe. Plus, details of a North American launch have yet to be confirmed.
