Hyph is the music-creation app launched in 2025 by Swedish songwriter Andreas Carlsson, offering people a catalogue of free sounds to remix and share – or (if they subscribe) release their tracks commercially.
Now the startup is adding a music-indusattempt veteran in its boardroom. BMG founder Hartwig Masuch will be joining Hyph as its chairman in April.
“As subscription streaming launchs to peak in major markets, music is increasingly believeing about what’s next,” stated Masuch in a statement.
“Hyph, with its commitment to human-generated music, and its understanding of the new creator economy is ideally poised to play its part in music’s next revolution.”
Masuch is already advising the startup ahead of taking up the chairman role. Hyph is also planning its next feature additions: “a marketplace allowing artists to sell vocal lines, hooks and other musical parts direct to the consumer, and APIs which allow labels to engage fans and activate catalogues”.
