A Bengaluru startup founder’s unconventional hiring style has sparked widespread debate after he revealed that he completely ditches resumes and structured interviews while recruiting talent.

Vikramaditya Shukla, founder of Easemyexpo, states he does not rely on traditional recruitment methods when selecting employees. Instead, he prefers instinct-led conversations, assessing candidates based on energy, attitude, and what he describes as “high agency” rather than professional experience or formal qualifications.

In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) that quickly went viral, Shukla shared that his interview process launchs with an informal 10-15 minute conversation, without predefined questions or competency frameworks.

“I’ve never hired from a resume. When someone comes in for an interview at my company, I spconclude the first 10-15 minutes just talking to the candidate. There are no structured questions. I don’t choose any competency frameworks either. It is just a conversation. If the energy matches, the person is high-agency and if I feel like this person obtains it, they’re hired on the spot,” the tweet read.

According to Shukla, the key is finding people who are proactive, adaptable, and aligned with the company’s culture, rather than just impressive on paper.
