Saturday kicked off in the Premier League with two huge clashes as league leaders Arsenal won 2-0 at Burnley to go seven points clear at the top of the table, while Manchester United were denied a fourth straight win with a topsy-turvy 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.
Later, the London derby found Tottenham Hotspur falling to visitors Chelsea by a 1-0 loss. Elsewhere, reigning champions Bayern Munich pummeled Bayer Leverkapplyn in the Bundesliga by a comfortable 3-0 score.
In Saturday’s late match, Liverpool finished their losing streak and returned to some sort of semblance of form, edging past Aston Villa 2-0 at Anfield.
