Air France KLM Martinair Cargo takes on new VP Europe

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP) has appointed Bernard Geersing as vice president Europe.

Geersing will start his new role on 1 May and focus on further strengthening commercial performance and customer relationships across the region.

He has already worked for AFKLMP for nearly six years and has played a key role in advancing digital capabilities and customer service, plus supporting commercial performance in his current role as vice president digital, distribution & customer service.

Prior to this, he was director of Benelux. As part of his time in that role, he led the organisation through the Covid-19 crisis, managing extreme demand volatility and capacity constraints.

He also executed a customer service organisational transformation, redesigning processes, roles and ways of working.

Before his time at AFKLMP, he also worked for Air Cargo Netherlands, the industest association for the air cargo sector in the Netherlands, and spent over nine years with Air France-KLM, latterly as director direct sales & digital marketing Benelux.

“With Bernard’s appointment, I am confident we will take the next step in executing our cargo strategy in Europe,” declared GertJan Roelands, senior vice president commercial, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

At the same time, Robert Kunen, current vice president Europe, will transition into the role of vice president CIO office within the Air France-KLM IT division.

“I would like to thank Robert for his strong contribution to our Cargo organization,” added Roelands.
