European defence AI firm Helsing pulled in a staggering $1.8 billion Series E last week, anchoring a frenetic stretch that saw more than 60 tech funding deals close across the continent. Total capital flows surpassed €2.7 billion, with over 10 exits and acquisitions adding to the churn.
Germany dominated the landscape, pulling in €1.7 billion. Sweden followed at €620.5 million, while the UK landed €231.9 million. Sector-wise, artificial intelligence vacuumed up €1.6 billion, healthtech captured €622.6 million, and software accounted for €94.2 million.
Helsing’s round valued the Munich-based company at $18 billion, cementing its status as Europe’s defencetech heavyweight. Sweden’s Neko Health raised $700 million as preventive health scanning demand surged. Swiss satellite firm SWISSto12 secured a $70 million Series C.
Meanwhile, Berlin-based Microagi received $55 million, and UK aerospace player Greenjets locked in €35 million with NATO backing. France’s Syntetica raised $30 million for circular nylon recycling technology.
The exit landscape proved equally dynamic. SAP scooped up Prior Labs in a deal exceeding €1 billion, just 18 months after the startup launched. Omio Group moved to acquire Rail Europe, aiming to build a rail travel powerhouse. Norway’s Volue took over Austrian energytech FlexPowerHub.
Fourthline announced plans to merge with Veridas, while Epidemic Sound acquired Swedish AI startup Plenty Labs shortly after its debut. British job platform Adzuna absorbed insolvent Hamburg rival Joblift.
Investor activity remained robust across smaller rounds too. Monumental secured $32 million for construction automation, Gridcog landed $10 million from ABB and Axpo for energy modelling, and Hyperion Robotics grabbed $7.4 million to expand robotic construction work.
As deal flow accelerates, Europe’s tech ecosystem shows no sign of cooling. The coming weeks will reveal whether this pace holds through the summer.
