During Chemical Watch’s Product Sustainability Europe conference, Dr. Dylan Geraets will discuss the latest legislative developments in respect of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and CBAM including the Omnibus neobtainediations as well as relevant implementing and delegated acts. The session will focus on the paradigm shift in EU regulation that took place with the inception of the European Green Deal and the subsequent emergence of mandatory supply chain due diligence, whereby companies are built liable for violations of international norms on human rights and environmental protection. In this regard, it will also address the implications of the EU Forced Labour Regulation that will start to apply in 2027. Dr. Geraets will provide practical considerations for the legal and operational challenges that companies subject to these instruments face, in particular in light of the legal uncertainty surrounding their definitive form.
