Boleron turns ChatGPT conversations into regulated European insurance purchases

Boleron has secured its position as the first European insurance broker approved by OpenAI and integrated into GPT, marking a decisive shift in how consumers might buy coverage through AI platforms. The company now operates live purchase flows inside ChatGPT and offers a working MCP connector for Claude, with Gemini access still pending.

This development arrives as millions of consumers query tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for insurance recommendations. The missing piece, until now, involved a regulated, machine-readable layer connecting insurers’ products to AI platforms’ massive user bases. Boleron aims to fill that gap.

“Insurance is becoming a conversation, and we are the licensed infrastructure inside it,” explained CEO Alexander Tsvetkov.

Founded over two decades ago as a software firm digitizing insurance distribution in Bulgaria and the UK, Boleron later acquired an insurance broker license. The company built distribution partnerships with two of Bulgaria’s three largest telecoms, managing everything from software to customer communications for 15 integrated insurers. That operational experience became the foundation for its AI pivot.

Rather than building another chatbot, Boleron constructed shared data and distribution infrastructure. Insurers integrate once with Boleron and their products become discoverable, quotable, and purchasable within AI conversations. The insurer keeps existing tariffs and underwriting rules while Boleron provides the intermediary license and handles AI-channel compliance.

The transaction layer already prices real policies across travel, motor third-party liability, casco, and property lines. Boleron also launched boleron.eu, a public structured data layer sourced from regulated insurance information across European markets. Tsvetkov compares it to a “Wikipedia for insurance,” addressing the accuracy problem AI systems face when scraping outdated web content.

For carriers, the pitch removes friction. “They don’t need to hire an IT company for a two-year project. If they integrate with us, they can be on ChatGPT,” Tsvetkov said.

Traditional distribution will coexist with AI channels for at least five years, according to Tsvetkov. Meanwhile, Boleron expands market by market, seeking additional carrier partners. The company’s full pivot signals a bet that discovery, quoting, and purchasing will collapse into a single conversational flow rather than a website visit.
