A Cyprus getaway now dominates rankings for autumn travel across Europe, claiming the top four positions for sun-seeking holidaymakers. The island’s combination of high temperatures, minimal rainfall, and a quick flight from Tel Aviv has captured significant attention.
British villa specialist Solmar Villas evaluated 105 European destinations to determine where travellers might find the most appealing conditions during October and November. The company weighed variables such as average temperatures, probability of precipitation, and flight costs for late autumn departures.
Ayia Napa secured first place overall. Limassol followed in second, with Larnaca and Paphos completing the sweep. During these months, Cyprus typically sees daytime highs between 24C and 29C. Ayia Napa itself averages just 2.3 rainy days monthly from September through November.
Solmar Villas operates as a villa holiday and rental provider with a portfolio exceeding 2,500 properties across more than 40 destinations. The England-based company now sits under the DERTOUR UK umbrella.
Israeli news outlet Walla reported that the findings bolster Cyprus’ standing among Israeli travellers hunting for a nearby escape where summer-like weather persists deep into autumn. Walla described Ayia Napa as notably calmer and less crowded once peak season ends, while characterising Limassol as a blend of beachfront leisure and urban energy.
Meanwhile, Larnaca emerged as the choice for visitors wanting an unhurried pace. Paphos drew attention for its archaeological sites and historical depth.
Proximity adds another layer of appeal. A flight from Tel Aviv to Cyprus takes roughly 40 minutes, making short autumn trips especially practical. As a result, the island now positions itself as the clearest European option for travellers chasing extended sunshine without long-haul logistics.
