ICE backs AI verifier certifying 16 million tonnes of industrial carbon claims

UK ClimateTech startup Isometric brings Series A to €43 million as it expands beyond carbon removal

Isometric, a London-based certification firm serving industrial markets, just pulled in a €8.6 million extension. The additional capital pushes its Series A to €43 million and signals growing investor appetite for verification technology that makes environmental claims financially credible.

The fresh tranche arrives months after the company closed a €34 million Series A in June. Combined with earlier seed funding, Isometric has now raised €64 million total since its 2022 founding.

Leading the new investment is Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the global exchange operator. ICE’s utility markets chief Gordon Bennett framed the move as a bet on digitizing environmental markets. Other new backers include Tokyo Gas’s Acario Innovation, BY Venture Partners, Dubai Future District Fund, Earth VC, Motion Ventures, One Capital, Plug and Play, Verb Ventures, and Legora founder Max Junestrand.

Isometric’s platform, Certify, deploys AI agents that examine every data point behind an industrial sustainability claim. Independent verifiers then review the findings. Each certificate lands on a public registry with underlying evidence, calculations, and source data attached. Chief Executive Eamon Jubbawy described the model simply: provable output becomes financeable output.

The company claims contracts to certify over 16 million tonnes of carbon removal, more than any competing certifier worldwide. Customers include Microsoft, Anglo American, Boeing, and JPMorgan Chase. Isometric has expanded beyond carbon removal into industrial emissions, energy, fuels, and materials.

The funding lands during a busy stretch for European climate verification startups. Paris-based Equitable Earth raised €12.6 million in January. Berlin’s Seqana secured €3.2 million for soil health measurement. Amsterdam’s Proba and Antwerp’s D-CRBN added €1.25 million and €17.5 million respectively. Dutch circular materials startup MAECONOMY and London’s Cocoon Carbon also closed rounds. Together, these six 2026 deals represent roughly €58 million in disclosed funding.

Isometric plans to use the partnership with ICE to accelerate expansion across industrial sectors, combining its certification technology with ICE’s financial market infrastructure.
