Ravi Pandit, co-founder and chairman of KPIT Technologies, died on Friday after a brief illness at the age of 75. A gold-medalist chartered accountant and MIT Sloan alumnus, Pandit helped build KPIT into a global software firm powering millions of vehicles across the US, Europe and Asia. He also chaired Kirtane & Pandit Chartered Accountants, operating across 15 countries. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar called him “a far-sighted and sensitive leader.” He is survived by his wife Nirmala and children Chinmay and Prachi.

With his demise, the industrial world, including Pune, has lost a far-sighted and sensitive leader.”Pandit was an alumnus of the Sloan School of Management at MIT, USA, a gold-medalist chartered accountant and a recipient of honorary doctorates from Coventest University, Amity University, TVM University and EMB University. He was also the co-author of the book “Leapfrogging to Pole-Vaulting”. He is survived by his wife Nirmala, his children Chinmay and Prachi.
