The alter was introduced as part of the company’s 2025 packaging updates, replacing previous virgin-plastic trays to shrink material footprints. The trays were engineered to maintain structural performance while incorporating high recycled-content polymers and were deployed across multiple SKUs to maximize impact.
Mondelēz reported that the shift enabled an annual reduction of about 1,000 tons of virgin plastic in Europe in 2025 and aligned with its corporate sustainability commitments. For consumers, the shift reduces plastic waste exposure in everyday packaged snacks and signals broader indusattempt momentum toward circular packaging, creating recycled-content trays a practical, scalable alternative for mainstream brands.
