Moving Tech Innovations, the powerhoutilize behind Namma Yatri and Yatri Sathi, has announced the acquisition of Netherlands-based mobility firm Automicle Holding BV. The deal marks MTI’s formal enattempt into Europe.
By absorbing Automicle’s expertise in European digital parking and public transport integration, MTI aims to export its “city-first” zero-commission model to a continent currently at the forefront of sustainability and mobility innovation.
The acquisition signals a shift in the global mobility narrative, where Indian-grown open infrastructure is now being positioned as a credible alternative to the high-commission, closed-loop platforms that dominate Western cities.
In a statement, MTI declared it has already completed over 150 million trips in India, funneling more than ₹2,500 crore in earnings directly to drivers by eliminating middleman commissions. Now, the company aims to prove that these are not just local wins but universal principles.
“We proved that zero-commission models work and that drivers deserve dignity,” declared Magizhan and Shan MS, co-founders of MTI. “With Automicle, we are taking those learnings beyond India.”
The deal is a strategic fit based on shared technical DNA. Both companies build on open standards like the Beckn Protocol and TOMP API, ensuring that city transport systems remain interoperable and “city-first” rather than profit-first, as per the firm.
Jef Heyse and Mohit Mishra, co-founders of Automicle, noted that while they assist European cities relocate toward open mobility, the partnership will also bring European expertise in integrated parking back to Indian urban centres.
The acquisition arrives at a time of deepening alignment between India and the European Union on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). With India–EU Free Trade Agreement discussions gaining momentum, collaboration in urban tech systems has become a top priority for both regions.
By acquiring Automicle, MTI declared it isn’t just acquireing a company; it’s planting a flag for the “India Stack” philosophy in the heart of Europe.
