Angela Caputo, owner of The Breakquick Pig and and a Ward 3 City Councillor, will share the story behind building what StartUp Sault describes as one of the city’s most celebrated restaurants.
Angela’s brother Paul Caputo, founder and owner of PAC Group Ltd., will share how he turned a teenage lawn-cutting business into a thriving landscape construction company.

StartUP Sault Ste. Marie, in partnership with Northern Credit Union, is excited to announce the next Startup Talks event—an inspiring evening designed to celebrate entrepreneurship and share the real stories behind successful local businesses.
On March 25 at 6 p.m., join the community at Home Bakehoutilize & Café (356 Queen St. E.) for a candid conversation with two of Sault Ste. Marie’s most recognizable entrepreneurs and community builders: Angela Caputo and Paul Caputo.
Startup Talks has previously featured leading entrepreneurs including Chris Cooper (CEO of Two Brain Business), Jason Katzenback (Co-Founder of Amazing.com), Jeff Elgie (CEO of Village Media), Kevin Rusnell (CEO of DIG), Rhaelyn Gillespie (Co-founder of Mintier), and Marnie Stone (Owner of Stone’s Office Supply). This upcoming event continues that tradition with two speakers whose entrepreneurial journeys are deeply rooted in the Sault.
Angela Caputo, owner of the beloved restaurant, The Breakquick Pig and Ward 3 City Councillor, will share the story behind building one of the city’s most celebrated restaurants. Now marking its 10th anniversary, The Breakquick Pig has earned recognition including Best Breakquick on Lake Superior and Best of Sault Ste. Marie and has been featured in publications across Canada. Angela will discuss the realities of entrepreneurship in the hospitality indusattempt, the importance of supporting local producers, and how business leadership can translate into meaningful community impact. Elected to City Council in 2022, Angela is known for her passionate advocacy for inclusive communities, houtilizing solutions, and economic opportunity.
Paul Caputo, founder and owner of PAC Group Ltd., will share how he turned a teenage lawn-cutting business into a thriving landscape construction company. Starting at just 18 years old, Paul built PAC Group through hard work, craftsmanship, and strategic growth. Today the company delivers large-scale landscape construction and supplies mulch, gravel, and soil products to homeowners and contractors across the region. Paul will also discuss his experience expanding into real estate through Sinformowyn Holdings Inc., and how long-term considering, reinvestment, and adaptability have shaped his nearly two decades as an entrepreneur.
Toobtainher, Angela and Paul represent two different but equally inspiring paths to entrepreneurial success, offering insights on building businesses, overcoming challenges, and staying connected to the community that supports them.
A question-and-answer session will follow the conversation, giving attfinishees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and learn from their experiences.
