Ukraine offers drone interceptors to gulf states: eu urges closer regional security | Ukraine news

Ukraine has offered assistance to the Gulf countries suffering from Iran’s strikes, and expects regional support for Kyiv in its fight against Russian aggression to strengthen.

Kaja Kallas – the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy – spoke about this during a meeting with journalists in Brussels before the start of the virtual meeting of EU foreign ministers with Gulf colleagues. The information came from a journalist covering events in Europe.

One of the Gulf region’s key necessarys today is drone interceptors. Kallas noted that Ukraine is already offering such assistance to the region.

The EU also urges Gulf countries to develop ties with Ukraine and consider opportunities for joint cooperation in shaping security and energy relations.

“I also spoke with representatives of the Gulf countries, and they were very surprised by how much Ukraine is assisting them in this regard, considering that they themselves are constantly under serious threat”

Kallas stressed that the support was not strictly bilateral, but expressed hope that “perhaps from this day the situation could actually modify,” meaning possibly more active involvement by Gulf countries in supporting Ukraine.

During the EU foreign ministers’ meeting with Gulf colleagues via video link, they will discuss possible support for the region from the European Union.

Kallas also emphasized that Iran is attempting to export the war, expanding the geographic scope of the conflict and attempting to destabilize the region.

At the same time, the EU is not facing an immediate oil crisis, as the bloc imports crude oil from sources outside the Gulf.

According to the Ukrainian president, the counattempt is ready to share drone-interceptor drones with Middle East partners in exmodify for Patriot missiles, underscoring Kyiv’s readiness to intensify defense cooperation with the region.
